Elliot’s Beach

Had a wonderful drive to Chennai’s Besant Nagar, named after the famous lady theosophist Annie Besant. It is the part of Chennai which is inhabited by many famous personalities and “Super Rich” folks. The main attraction in this area is the Elliot’s Beach, named after Edward Elliot (Governor of Madras, during the British Rule). Its funny how the beach looks deserted in the wee morning hours but gets so crowded in the evening that you cant find a place to sit. I love the mornings here, calm and peaceful. Its a 20 mins drive from my home, enjoy the calm breeze and also close to the beach is my favorite Idli (Steamed rice cake) Shop – Murugan Idli. Yum…
